How much notice do you need for orders? We require 36 hours. This gives us enough time to harvest and process your order while maintaining the highest quality. In the event that you require a last-minute delivery, we can accommodate, but do have to charge a $15 flat delivery fee.
How many times a week do you deliver/what days are they scheduled for? We send out a fresh sheet on Monday and are able to deliver Wednesday through Saturday. That said, we try to consolidate all our deliveries to one or two days a week. If you tell us what delivery days are best for your kitchen, we can work with all of our restaurant partners to determine the delivery day(s) that will best suit everyone's needs.
What methods of payment do you accept? We accept payment by cheque, credit card or automatic withdrawal for regular standing orders.
What do your farm salad blends look like? How many varieties are mixed? Our farm mixes vary according to the season and what's fresh/growing at its prime. At the beginning of the season, our mixes are heavier on spinach, along with mizuna and quicker growing lettuce varieties like tango, for example. In the middle of the season, this will change to include 4-5 different lettuces and other greens like baby red russian kale, beet greens and edible flowers. We generally include between 3-6 different varieties of greens in any one mix. We also offer a "Chef-Curated" option where you get to create your own salad mix, selecting the greens you wish to include.
Do your greens come in pre-washed? Yes. As soon as we harvest our greens, we always wash them in cool water, spin dry before a final air dry with fans. This helps enhance the quality and longevity of our greens. A second wash is recommended to meet your kitchen's standards.
If you are unable to supply for a period of time, due to weather etc., how much notice do you provide? We notify our customers as soon as humanly possible. That said, there's no way we can give an exact answer as to how much notice this would be. If we get hail damage and lose an entire crop of lettuce, this could happen within a few days of your order or the day before. However, being member-owners of YYC Growers + Distributors Co-operative, we have the ability to source from other member farms. This means that we can usually still meet all of our orders, substituting with other local farm product. When this is the case, we will always be 100% transparent.
What type of containers do you deliver in? We generally package orders into bulk plastic bags. For our greens specifically, it is vital for them to be stored in plastic to retain moisture. We are happy to work with your needs however, be that placing our product in stackable boxes or totes. Let us know what your kitchen prefers and we will work to accommodate.
